old school controller layout

Anyone else using the old controller layout? There are almost no differences in the offensive scheme (still can use the juke stick, still hold down A on xbox to sprint while passing, etc.) but I couldn't get used to the different control scheme on defense. I have a feeling that this was to appeal to the Sega folks, I know this is basically how the control schemes for those games was.

A quick question, how do I high-step or celebrate as I near the endzone? Since I'm using the old scheme, the triggers juke also, so I can't taunt or showboat the way that the controller says. Anyone know? How did you do it in 2005?

I believe if a defender was close to you, you will juke, but if you're alone you will high step. Be careful not to juke out of bounds when you're trying to high step.

i like the new controls because the jukes are lot better. You can pull of some amazing runs too. You might want to use the 06 controls because that is what it will probably be in further versions.

I personally am not a big fan of the 06 controls. Then again I'm not a big fan of any of the recent juke controls, because they can change directions and hit maximum speed instantly. Pretty unrealistic if you ask me. I still love NCAA Football 06 though.

There's not much of a difference...the only reason I changed it is because I can't get used to using (xbox controls) B to switch players and A to sprint. It was the other way around last year, old habits...

Re: old school controller layout

give the new controls about 10 games and you will get used to it. you guys gave up too easy. sure it's not natural at first but you do get used to it if you give it more of a chance!

If I was actually missing out on some new feature then maybe you could say that I "gave up" to fast, but the fact is, I didn't give up on anything, because all the new options are still available under the old control scheme.
