So basically we have larger basic playbooks on the 360 with more true-to life plays for each time, and the Xbox/PS2 have more trick plays in there?

EA doesn't want to give you all the features at once. They need to leave things out to keep people coming back from year to year.

I often wonder if this is the same reason some of the bugs/glitches get through "testing," regardless of what game or company it is.

The "perfect game" would ultimately cause a developer to lose money, especially in an annually released product, like sports games.

I do believe the companies are all about making money, but I don't think the developers let bugs/glitches through testing on purpose, though. I mean, I will cut them some slack in regards to the fact that creating a new game every year and hitting hard deadlines can be a bit of a strain. They don't have the luxury of waiting until every last detail of the game is hashed out before releasing the game, like non-sports games do.

Also, I don't think there will ever be the "perfect" game.

I would gladly pay for roster updates and graphic updates every year if there was a perfect football game.

We shouldn't have to wait a few years for the playbooks to meet current gen. That is bogus. This idea that there were 10,000 new animations ( which was grossly overstated) doesn't mean that gameplay will be better. The playbooks should've been the first thing that was taken care of. Hardcore gamers want a game that plays great and looks good second. I said it in November once Madden Next Gen was released that my expectations for NCAA '07 would not be too favorable. They would release "eye-candy" (ESPN 2K5 style) and then slowly implement the gameplay features in the latter releases of the game.

But, right now. This is still pretty much all speculative banter between everyone. We'll find out more at e3. But I'm not getting my hopes too high. Still though... I can't wait for this game. The lack of playbooks is my only gripe. I could care less about the Stadium Pulse or the Momentum Meter which will be overdone as usual in its inception.
That right there is your problem....EA doesn't cater to the hardcore gamer and quite frankly they have no obligation to do so.
