Percy will play, but UF is pretty set at WR this year, so we don't need his help as much right away like FSU needs Rolle's.

In all seriousness though, I hope a nice rivalry brews the next few years between Rolle/Harvin like there used to be with Boston/Woodson back about 10 years ago between OSU/Michigan. I don't know how often they'll be matched up straight on each other though since Rolle is going to play safety.

Re: When Will We See Freshmen Ratings?

If they've learned anything from the past few years, I would expect a running back to be the highest rated freshman. The trick is to predict who will bust out. Clarett and Peterson were expected. Mike Hart and Tyrell Sutton, not so much. But there is the possibility of someone coming in and being close to the top in yards.

Freshmen WRs usually have a lot more work to do. Ginn, Pat Turner, Manningham all had good first years, but none had even 500 yards.

For example, in 2005 there were 14 freshmen who rushed for 770+ yards, and only 6 receivers who accomplished that. Note: Some of these guys are redshirts. I didn't check each player to find out.
2004: 7 rushers to 4 receivers. 10, 1 in 2003, 10, 3 in 2002. And so forth.

I think Chris Wells (enrolled early) or one of the USC backs would be good choices for this year's highest freshman. Possibly a different RB.

Re: When Will We See Freshmen Ratings?

I'm anxious to see the ratings for Illinois freshmen class, particularly their QB Isiah Williams.

Re: When Will We See Freshmen Ratings?

Slight twist on this thread, which of your team's incoming freshmen do you think will be in the game? And why not, guess their overall rating.

For FSU
Myron Rolle, SS, 84 ovr
Marcus Ball, OLB, 82 ovr
Shannon Boatman, OT, 82 ovr (Juco)
Paul Griffin, DT, 83 ovr (Juco)
Matt Hardrick, OT/OG, 80 ovr
Damon McDaniel, WR, 79 ovr
Justin Mincey, DE, 82 ovr
Caz Piurowski, TE, 76 ovr
Christian Ponder, QB, 74 ovr
Daron Rose, OT, 76 ovr
Toddrick Verdell, OLB, 81 ovr (Juco)
Brandon Warren, if TE, 83 ovr
Brandon Warren, if DE, 81 ovr

Re: When Will We See Freshmen Ratings?

Florida
Tim Tebow QB 75 ovr
Mon Williams RB 74 Ovr
Percy Harvin WR 76 ovr
Jarred Fayson WR 73 Ovr
Trent Pupello TE 71 Ovr
Maurice Hurt OG 73 Ovr
Carl Johnson OL 73 Ovr
Jermaine Cunningham DE 72 Ovr
Brandon Antwine DT 72 Ovr
Brandon Spikes LB 76 Ovr
Jacques Rickerson CB 74 Ovr
Markihe Anderson CB 70 Ovr

freshman shouldn't be rated too high because of the adjustment between playing high school and college ball, if someone is an early enrollee that player should definately have the possibility of having a good rating but maybe a "potential" attribute can be added
