Is there a solution to names appearing online?

he's right, they both don't need the roster file. I've played guys online that don't have the roster, because they'll say something weird and I'll ask, and they say yeah I just have numbers on the screen, while I have names on the screen.

Here's a thought... maybe it was part of the exclusivity deal EA reached with NCAA... now we can't use edited names online...

Imagine if we can't use them on PS2 neither.... damn...

Just open a copy of Athlon's, TSN, or Phil Steele's and have it sitting in front of you while you play.

EDIT: I know this is too much of a level headed and common sense answer for alot of people.

Why do people think the names will appear online in other versions of the game? (ps2, xbox) This is probably across the board, if EA can't allow it in one they can't allow it in another one would think.

Bingo, if it's an NCAA rules thing, it will effect all of the systems, they just wouldn't do it to one. There's got to be a way around it. Have we heard anything from Fairdale about the generate, then edit idea??

Oh yeah, looking up a player every time he does anything, that makes sense. The truth is when I play with names it enhances the experience that you are playing with real people whereas numbers just feels as if there is no real connection with the athletes.

It'd be like announcers in real life not using names, but instead saying "#10 is just a great athlete, look at that beautiful pass to #7, then you see #7 juke #28, wow, #7 is something to watch!!" How real well would that go over with most people? About as well as alot of us online people and no online names.

I wonder if lack of names for 360 has something to do with when you call plays at the playcalling screen it has the option for plays by specific position, like QB #10 and by inputting names into the 360 it would screw up the playcalling screen.
