Just plain wierd

I was playing my friend and with about 2 mins left in the 3rd quarter he scored a touchdown. He decides to go for two. During the two point try, his running back fumbles the ball forward and out of the back of the endzone. "2-point conversion failed" pops onto the screen. I am then thinking, okay I am going to drive down the field and score to tie the game on this next possession. Unfortunately for me, when its time to kickoff, I am kicking to him. I was furious and we had to start the whole game over. It was the wierdest thing I have seen in all my years playing NCAA Football.

Why did you just let him drive to about the 40 then punt it out of the endzone so you could have it at the 20? Would of taken 10 seconds for him to to get to where he could punt it far enough.
