Re: Recruiting guide

As Penn State I have not been able to recruit an overwhelming amount of 5 star talent, maybe one or two per year. I have gotten a lot of 4 star talent though from PA, Ohio, and Maryland...pretty close to what Penn State does in real life.

I also recruited the number 1 RB in the nation during my second season, dude is a beast.

You can get interested players to commit with phone calls and incorrect pitches, as well. It's a matter of being efficient with your points.

I'm pretty sure there's only one reaction per recruit. Either way, sticking with a negative pitch works.

I've had a guy with a green + sign and red - sign so a recruit can have two reactions, and I never stick with the negative pitch, it might work but I just move onto another pitch once he gives me the one he doesn't like.

Re: Recruiting guide

Interesting.

The gamefaqs recruiting walkthrough for '06 is good reading.

I read that, but I didn't know if it was good for this game since I didn't play 06. It is good? I'll re-read that beast then.

Re: Recruiting guide

I just finished recruiting with NC State in my PS2 dynasty.. The results are as follows:

Quote:
Code:
NC State - Year 1 Recruiting Results

5 Star Recruits

	C. Robinson (OLB)

4 Star Recruits

	C. Boyd (Tackle)
	S. Watson (Tackle)
	E. Cohen (DE)
	N. Austin (DE)
	T. Blanks (MLB)
	R. Price (FS)
	P. Blanchard (CB)
	D. McCaleb (Kicker)

3 Star Recruits

	M. Martin (Center)
	K. Denman (Tackle)
	C. Miller (Tackle)
	M. Jackson (TE)
	M. Hall (MLB)
	W. Pittman (CB)
	M. Coleman (FS)
	D. Grant (SS)

2 Star Recruits

	A. Craig (HB, very fast)
	E. Newman (Guard)
I ended up with the 11th best recruiting class overall, and was the best in the ACC, one ahead of Auburn (12th).

My strategy was pretty basic.. Focus on guys that are interested, with an emphasis on those in pipeline states. I managed to pull in a few recruits from across the country, due to their interest being high, but recruiting them was expensive, especially in the initial weeks when there are still quite a few targets.

I'm not sure what relevence spending percentages have, but mine were set at 45% for recruiting and training, and 10% for discipline. In my first year, I had to suspend my senior CB after an altercation at his apartment. He was one of my playmakers, but I sat him for the season, despite the recommendation being just three games. Therefore, the NCAA is pretty much off my nuts, and I figure I can afford to spend discipline points elsewhere as a result.
