Highest Score - Instant Classic

After reading several random posts, I've mostly seen Instant Classic scores in the 900s. I was amazed to see my 1109 yesterday in the Capital One Bowl. It was 34-30 win over Auburn with the Hawkeyes.

Came back from a 30-17 4th Quarter deficit to WIN!!!

I had a 1300 one on Saturday. My all time best was 3000 something in 2004 and 2006.

Wow, do you know how they determine scoring?

I think the score is higher if a lot of points are scored right at the end of the game. However, oddly, I have found that games that go for 2+ overtimes rarely get greatest game status

Leads changing hands is big, wheras come from behind games aren't as big. Scoring in the last second while down to win is bigger than being tied and winning. The longer the final score is the better. Wins by more than 7 (maybe 8) are not counted. The last play of the game is very important, so if you get the ball back with one second and take a knee, it's less than the play before it being the last play.

I don't think the actual matchup matters, as both of my 3000 games were regular season games where niether team was in the top 10. However, in one game, there were three lead changes in the last about 30 seconds (I score, the return the kickoff, I throw a Hail Mary) and the other was a 100 some yard INT return for the win.

My first one was 2200 something. As Washington, I beat Arizona by a touchdown in OT. Fun game. I kicked a field with 5 seconds left to tie the game in the 4th. Chose to defend first in OT and Arizona got a field goal. I ran in for a touchdown with Stanback to win the game.
