i'm sorry you still don't know why I thought it was funny...he posted the pics showing the different types of drives and you still asked how you could tell the difference...lighten up

anyways I advise veryone buy a warranty from MS, saves you $60 if NCAA (or soemthing else) destroys your 360. Plus you won't be paranoid about your 360 breaking and feelinh hopeless.

I just talked to CS at MS tonight because I've have mic problems with the headset. (It's our 2nd headseat)Anyway, I told the CSR that I've been having DDE with NCAA 07 and he immediately knew about it. He said alot of people are experiencing the DDE's. He told me that is not MS problem, it's a problem with EA. He said I should talk to EA about it.

So, I would encourage everyone to email EA's CS who are having issues with the DDE's.

I've got the Samsung ddrive. I voted no for the DDE. Technically, I did have one a couple of days after I got the game. But, knock on wood, that's the only one I've had.

just bought a 360 and have been reading up on the problems.

microsoft used 2 different drives at lauch to try and meet demand. the only difference in terms of performance or reliabilty between the two is noise, the samsung are considered quieter (some think they are more reliable as well but I have read problems with both). launch was about 50/50 with the drives, today 95% of xbox360s in stores today have samsung. the phillips drive was only in the dev. kits and show models, my understanding is they were never avaiable for retail.
