Anyone know how to make a WR jump ?

They dont ever seem to jump and fight for a ball. I love drafting tall WR's , but its pointless since they never use their height. Endzone fade routes cant be used right because instead of jumping the WR's just try and catch the ball. They never leap up and snatch it.

If get a 6'6" WR one on one with a 5'9" DB 40 yards downfield you should be able to lob up a jump ball. You can lob it up ,but your WR wont jump for it. You press Y and he just goes into a catch animation. They never leap up high in the air.


Does anyone have the secret to this ? Does pressing something other than Y make the WR actually jump in the air to make a catch ? Or does that animation just not exist ?

Try pushing up on the left control stick as you push Y to catch the ball. Works for me everytime.

Really? I don't remember but was this even in the instruction manual?

This is on the 360? B/C I do the same thing as far as the tall WR's go. And I was wanting to get them to jump. I thought I read in a previous thread that you just hold Y. That didn't seem to work for me let me know if it worked.

they wont jump on any route when they are moving up the field but say u wait for a wr to run a streak and throw it but of course u cant throw it that far so the wr stops and waits for it that is when u can jump and its the only way u can get it with jumping but if u have a tall wr 6'5 etc. its real easy to pull it down

I have only seen the wideouts jump on crossing right where you throw it high. Maybe a corner route as well but I cant remember. To me the game doesnt appear to make it any easier because you have a height advantage. I have it on PS2, so maybe next gen has done some different stuff with the game.

I know for a fact receivers jump b/c I make Marcus Monk jump almost everytime I throw him the ball. I also think their is a height advantage b/c Monk is 6'6" and I throw high to him everytime so that he can come down above those little CB and safeties.
