Changing WR's to CB's in Dynasty Mode...
I was in the off season of my Penn State dynasty, between Year 2 and 3. I had about seven WR's on the depth chart and three vet CB's and a buncha frosh after them. So I decided to take Jason McDonald, a redshirt junior WR and move him to CB. 6'2" 200 lbs, 89 for speed, 87 for catching or something along those lines.
When I initially went to change him, the screen told me he'd be a 76 overall CB. Not bad I thought, he'd be my 4th corner for dime packages. So I make the change and continue w. my off season duties.
Then I get to the player progression portion of the offseason and I'm shocked to see that the top improver on my team is McDonald who jumped 12 overall points up to an 88 as a cornerback! He moved up to the starting CB opposite Justin King.
So far in three games he has two INT's (one for a TD) and a fumble recovery. He gets burned every now and then on slant/post patterns but overall he's been a pleasant surprise.
I never knew that changing positions was a crapshoot like that. I like how you can't tell how good a player will really be when you make the initial change. I'll play around w. changing positions alot more in the future.
Anyone else had success like this?
