Year Three Early NFL Entrants
The 2009 Draft Class includes 11 entries from the Class of 2010. There are two redshirt sophomores, and nine juniors. The early entries include four running backs and two linebackers. The early entries include:
#97 Tariq Bell, C, University of Miami (FL) - Jr. - Overall: 90 The 6'5", 329-pound monster from Miami won this past year's Rimington Award for Best Center, and earned 1st Team All-American and All-ACC honors. As a junior, Bell recorded his best statistical year, recording 20 pancakes while only giving up 2 sacks. Career Stats Pancakes: 31 Sacks Allowed: 5 #92 Reggie McCray, QB, University of South Carolina - Jr. - Overall: 93 McCray started his sophomore and junior seasons for the Gamecocks, recording over 6,500 yards in passing with 76 touchdowns. He finished fifth in Heisman voting this past season. His first foray into SEC football resulted in 268 completions from 451 attempts (59%), 3,478 yards, 37 TD and 19 interceptions. A 2nd Team All-SEC selection his junior year was a by-product of going 241 for 369 (65%) for 3,113 yards, 39 TD and 8 INT - a 166.7 QB rating. Career Stats Passing: 147.3 rating - 509 completions, 820 attempts, 6,591 yards, 76 TD, 27 INT #86 Josh Roberts, OLB, University of Michigan - Jr. - Overall: 96 Roberts was a multi-purpose defensive threat in his junior season, recording 8 sacks, 5 interceptions and 12 pass deflections. The 6'4" 255-pound linebacker is the highest rated player on the board from this class. Career Stats Defense: 119 tackles, 8 sacks, 5 INT, 3 FF, 1 FR, 0 TD's, 19 Pass Deflections #74 Lamar Randall, HB, University of Michigan - So. (RS) - Overall: 88 The Wolverines' second early entrant is Randall, who was a threat running and receiving the ball in his junior season. Randall recorded 10 receiving touchdowns and 9 rushing touchdowns this past season. Randall's best rushing and receiving output was this past season as well, rushing for 863 yards and catching 27 balls for 485 yards. Career Stats Rushing: 153 rushes, 981 yards (6.4 avg), 10 TDs Rushing: 28 catches, 487 yards (17.4 avg), 11 TDs Kickoffs: 1 return, 28 yards (28.0 avg), 0 TDs #68 Marcus McDowell, HB, University of Notre Dame (IN) - Jr. - Overall: 92 McDowell's breakout junior season resulted in a 1st Team All-Independent Team selection, as he rushed for 1,143 yards, 15 rushing TDs, 484 receiving yards and 5 TD's. The 5-11, 203-pound running back saw limited action his sophmore season. Career Stats Rushing: 206 rushes, 1,517 yards (7.3 avg) and 21 TD's Receiving: 32 catches, 617 yards (19.3) and 5 TD's Kickoffs: 1 return, 21 yards (21.0) and 0 TD's #60 Darius Murphy, OLB, University of Nebraska - Jr. - Overall: 90 Murphy, a Freshman All-American selection, moved his way through the post-season accolades, culminating in a Bednarik Award and 1st Team All-American choice this past season. The two-time All-Big 12 selection recorded 86 tackles, 13 sacks, 4 interceptions, 5 forced fumbles and 15 pass deflections his junior season. Career Stats Defense: 178 tackles, 22 sacks, 5 INT, 7 FF, 2 FR, 0 TD's and 31 Pass Deflections #33 Brendan Nunez, CB, University of Nebraska - Jr. - Overall: 90 The Blue Chip prospect from Bronx, NY was a 1st Team All-American and Big 12 selection in his junior year. Nunez closed his junior campaign with 7 interceptions, returning three for TD's. Career Stats Defense: 47 tackles, 0 sacks, 7 INT, 1 FF, 1 FR, 3 TDs, 13 Pass Deflections #27 Rob Davis, WR, Texas A & M University - Jr. - Overall: 90 The speedy 5'11, 178-pound Davis caught over 1,500 yards in passes over his two-year production. Davis' junior season resulted in 79 catches, 986 yards, 11 touchdowns and a 1st Team All-Big 12 choice. Career Stats Receiving: 122 catches, 1,587 yards (13.0) and 17 TD's Kickoffs: 16 returns, 314 yards (19.6) and 0 TD's Punts: 10 returns, 127 yards (12.7) and 0 TD's #22 Jimmy McMahon, HB, Ohio State University - Jr. - Overall: 93 McMahon rushed for 1,741 yards and 14 touchdowns his junior year, resulting in a 2nd Team All-Big 10 selection. The 5'11", 206-pounder scored 24 total touchdowns, running and receiving. Career Stats Rushing: 334 rushes, 2,127 yards (6.4 avg) and 23 TD's Receiving: 20 catches, 248 yards (12.4) and 1 TD's #15 Tim West, DT, Texas A & M University - Jr. - Overall: 86 The only DT taken in the Top 100 from this class earned his stripes on the field, earning 1st Team All-American and Big 12 honors in his junior season as an Aggie. He recorded 47 tackles, 7 sacks, 1 forced fumble, 2 fumble recoveries and 1 touchdown. Career Stats Defense: 81 tackles, 10 sacks, 0 INT, 1 FF, 3 FR, 1 TD, 6 Pass Deflections #11 Daniel Russell, HB, Colorado State University - So. (RS) - Overall: 88 The 5'11", 202 running back transferred from Louisiana State University to Colorado State University after a redshirt year and an unproductive freshman campaign. Russell was 1st Team All-Mountain West Conference selection after his only year in Fort Collins. The 2010 Draft Class includes 5 early entries from the Class of 2011, including the reigning Heisman Trophy Winner, Jared Jackson.
#98 Kenny Garrett, WR, University of Miami (FL) - Jr. - Overall: 89 Garrett, a two-time 1st Team All-ACC Selection, will forego his senior season and enter the Pro Draft. The 6'3", 237-pound Garrett scored 24 touchdowns over his career, including a 64 reception, 859 yard sophomore campaign in which he scored 13 touchdowns. Career Stats Receiving: 137 catches, 1,962 yards (14.3 avg), 24 TDs #77 Tim Hunt, DE, University of Tennessee - Jr. - Overall: 91 Hunt recorded 16 sacks over his career, which includes a 2nd Team All-SEC slection his sophomore year. Hunt garnered 117 tackles over his career Career Stats Defense: 117 tackles, 16 sacks, 0 INT, 2 FF, 0 FR, 0 TDs, 5 Pass Deflections #61 Jared Jackson, WR, University of Florida - Jr. - Overall: 92 Jared Jackson became this class' first Heisman Trophy Winner, amassing 1,756 point en route to a number awards in his junior season, where he scored 59 times. Before his junior seasons, Jackson was 3 of 6 for 42 yards. His Heisman winning season resulted in 238 for 362 (65%) for 3,688 yards, 49 touchdowns and 23 interceptions. He also rushed 140 times for 720 yards and tallied 10 scores. He also earned 1st Team All-American and SEC honors, along with the Best QB Award. Career Stats Passing: 241 completions, 368 attempts, 3,730 yards, 49 TD, 23 INT Rushing: 148 rushes, 735 yards (4.9 avg) and 11 TDs #59 Bruce Winston, MLB, Texas A & M University - Jr. - Overall: 93 Winston recorded a nondescript 61 career tackles at Miami before turning pro. The 5'11" 256-pounder also had 2 forced fumbles over his career. Career Stats Defense: 61 tackles, 4 sacks, 0 INT, 2 FF, 0 FR, 0 INT, 9 Pass Deflections #16 Tim Johnson, FS, University of Texas - Jr. - Overall: 94 The 1st Team All-Big 12 selection recorded 30 tackles with 5 interceptions in his Junior campaign, scoring twice and deflecting 7 passes. Career Stats Defense: 36 tackles, 0 sacks, 5 INT, 1 FF, 1 FR, 2 TDs, 10 Pass Deflections. |
