Question about the momentum meter

Is it that bad? Last year, I played with HFA off b/c once I got the crowd going, I'd blow out very good teams like Iowa and Texas with Ohio State. It was no fun. With HFA off, the games were much better. Now I hear that the momentum meter ruins the game a lot of the time and turns games into either blowout wins or blowout losses. Am I able to turn momentum off or is it not an option. Also, is it a game-killer?

Re: Question about the momentum meter

Momentum is extreme in this game. Once the CPU gets going they're hard to stop but then once halftime comes their momentum goes way down. For example I play on Heisman with Playmaker's sliders. I'm in my second season with Arizona State. Vs Stanford I'm down 21-0 at halftime, final score I won 41-35. Vs Cal I'm down 14-0, I win 52-21. Vs both UCLA and USC I was down 13-0 I won 41-13 and 45-21 respectively. And finally vs Arizona I was losing 35-0, halftime comes, I get a little break in momentum and I won in overtime 48-45.

Re: Question about the momentum meter

It hasnt effected my experience at all. Ive only played about 5 games on the 360. But all of them have been back and fourth.

No where close to a game killer, but it can't be turned off.

Some like it, some hate it. Personally I like it, makes the game challenging. Maybe they should tone it down a bit though.

Re: Question about the momentum meter

It cannot be turned off. To me, it is not a gamekiller. You just have to play a lot smarter when you have momentum against you...throw a ball into double coverage when the other team has full momentum, and you're just going to dig yourself a deeper hole. Play a little more conservative, string a drive together, and you'll swing the momentum bit by bit. It really makes you work a lot harder when you're down.

With that said, I wish there was option to turn it off....just so I could see if I prefer the game with or without it. It's nice to be a road team and negate the homefield advantage though.

Re: Question about the momentum meter

might be a stupid question, but is there any HFA in the 360 version? I noticed theres no stadium pulse or anything like in the previous current gen versions.

(fyi: ive only had ncaa for about 3 days)
