Re: Interesting transfers

How do you get transfers?

This is how I got 8 transfers in 2 years...

1. I started a dynasty with UAB (29 Seniors)...

2. I customized their schedule so that they didn't play any tough out of conference games...

3. I went 14-0 and won the C-USA Title and the Liberty Bowl

4. I had three guys want to transfer in after year 1...X. Lee (QB-FSU), M. Manson (HB-UF), and B. Boomer (TE-OSU or UF?)

5. I had a horrible recruting season, I couldn't get anyone above a 3 star interested in me, eventhough I landed the #1 QB, #1 & #2 HB's, and #1 LG during in-season recruiting...I ended up with 15 or so walk-ons...

6. I went 14-0 again, with a really weak schedule...same bowl game, etc...

7. I signed 7 four-star or better recruits during in season recruiting...

8. I had 5 more players transfer in...all Jr's, all about 82 or better...from various big name schools...

9. I still had another tough recruiting season and had to sign about 7 walk-ons...

10. I run a option-run flexbone attack, so i get a lot of running QB's and HB's that want to transfer in...

Re: Interesting transfers

In my Fresno State dynasty I had Pat Cowan (QB, UCLA) xfer to my team after year 2...sit out a season...then come back for his Sr year as an impact player. I didn't know this at the time and made Sr(RS) Tom Brandstater an impact player and am in year 3 with 2 impact players at QB...both Sr players.

Cowan started the season but Brandstater is the starter now because he's a "balanced" QB so if he is off in the passing game I can run with him some and attempt to keep the chains moving.

I was just doing that as a experiment on what I could do to get quality guys to transfer into my program...as far as I can tell, transfers prefer schools that...

1. win
2. have a low number of players
3. run a scheme that suits their abilities

Re: Interesting transfers

I had Zach Frazer transfer to Penn State from Notre Dame...Which I thought was stupid, because I already had 45 QBs on my team.
