The End of XBOX 360...

My 360 has been freezing up alot lately...
It just started happening so I dont kno what is wrong with it...
It is the console from the initial release... and I never had a problem before with it...

Anybody kno what is causing this problem?

I don't know what it is but the warranty has been extended to 1-year on all launch systems so you might as well give MS a call and have it fixed.

Don't know what is doing it but I have a launch 360 and no problems till about a week ago. Same thing that is happening to yours, I just called MS and am sending it in to get fixed. It's totally free so you might as well do it.

same thing happened to my original xbox with the whole DDE thing...

Its one reason I'm leary about getting a 360. The original XBox had three different hard drives with one being a crappy one. I don't know why MS would have the same problem again. They should just use one standard drive and yet I hear the HD in the grey case will freeze with NCAA sometimes. Stupid (if true). I have read about so many units that freeze that its scary.

It seems worth it to get the two-year extended warranty. I'm not sure if it's $50 or $60.

The Xbox had three different disc drives,one of which,the Thomson,was known for giving up the ghost.A bad dvd drive results in DDEs and games not being recognized.

Wasn't sure exactly what the problem was but I think my brother's XBox had the bad one. I just hope his new 360 isn't bad. He had to reformat his hard drive as soon as he got it since it wasn't working right.
