NCAA Development Platform

I'm not sure if this has ever been discussed much, but obviously, previous incarnations of NCAA Football were developed on the PS2 and ported over to the Xbox. I'm no genius, but I would attribute that to the fact that the PS2 launched prior to the Xbox.

Is the 360 going to be the development platform for NCAA this time around? I'm just wondering because it seems like EA tends to favor Sony, but they've definitely had more time to build the existing engine on the 360, so you'd think that they stick with it.

Anyone have any insight here? It doesn't really matter I guess, just some food for thought. I'm not trying to make this a console war or anything. It just seemed like the PS2 version was usually better than the Xbox version, and since I have a 360, I'd rather the 360 be the "base" model.

Really? I felt like it was the exact opposite. The PS2 graphics always lacked a little punch when in comparison to the Xbox.

I always thought that EA built on the PS2 because 1. It was the least powerful console in terms of graphical capability, and 2. It had the widest userbase. So they could max out the PS2's capabilities for the most users, and then just blanket upgrade the graphics a bit for the Xbox.

Right now, it seems like the 360 definetely already meets #2, and, once companies better figure out how to utilize the Cell, it'll probably meet #1. So I'd guess that EA would dev on the 360.

P.S. Mizzou23, how about that Mizzou-ISU game a couple weeks ago ?

I guess Iowa State was in full "win one for the gipper" mode. Sort of like the next level above Heisman.
