Playing in "Coach Mode"...a question.

Ok, here goes. I call a pass play, snap the ball and drop the controller(don't touch it until play is over). THe QB drops back, dances around, dodges the rush then scrambles...every time!

My QB will never throw the ball. Am I missing something? Help!

EDIT: this is on the XBOX

Don't really have an answer, just curious, is he a scrambler anyway or a pocket passer? Also is every time like EVERY SINGLE TIME?

He is a pocket passer...and by every time, i mean I called the same pass play against a random defense over 40 times(2-4 mins worth) and he was either sacked(70% of the time) or he ran with it.

SO, right, this is not difinitive BUT...tonight I will try it 100 times and keep track on several different formations and different pass plays. I think I just got frustrated by it and stopped too early or at least I HOPE that is what happened.

Try the backup QB too just to see what he does.

Go into "settings" and make sure you have "auto throw" toggled on.

Exactly. Having auto throw off allows the user to have the cpu drop back the QB while the user scans the field and makes the throw. With auto throw off, the CPU will never throw the ball. That's why the QB is scrambling because he is waiting for you to throw it and eventually just takes off when the pressure comes. If you are in coach mode, this setting MUST be turned on if you want the CPU to throw it.
