I agree. But 04 is just SLIGHTLY behind. It may even be a tie. I played so much of 04... that was my summer of NCAA... never played that much ever again. Although I think I might have with 07 had my Xbox not crapped out during the Fall semester this past year.

Yes 04 was a great game but I liked 05 as well. I got sick of 04 really quick for some reason. Maybe it was because they didn't have my team's stadium correct. I don't know. But I was mostly done playing the game in December of 2003 when I usually play the football games untill the next one comes out.

Hell, I put in the 2002 game the other day and played that. Wow we have come a long way since then. But that game was fun to sit back and play again.

I doubt many will say that. Its widely considered to be THE BEST, if not one of the best versions of the series...but the general consensus among the diehards is overwhelmingly for 2004.

I'll disagree, and here are my reasons:
1. Momentum - Way overdone, and EA and I don't agree on what scenarios warrent a +5 on the momentum meter.
2. JTS - Way too many pancakes on both sides of the ball.
3. 3rd Person Kick Returns
4. The kicking mechanism.
5. The CPU never missing kicks.
6. Too much rain in dynasty that contributes to way too many fumbles.

I really enjoyed '07 (once I got back and actually played it, so I've only been playing it since January), but I have a few issues with it. It's still my favorite to date, but certainly not the best it could be.

1. Jump the Snap: It's stupid and results in wayyy too many pancakes; Cardot is correct.
2. Third person kick returns; again, Cardot nails it.
3. Field goals are too easy for CPU and User.

Re: NCAA 2004: I know it's been said before...

I think it was the best of the Xbox/PS2 generation as well. 05 was awful, and 06 was pretty good, but not as good as 2004.

Which is kind of weird, because I thought Madden 2004 was the worst of that generation.
