Re: Gamespot NCAA 08 preview

I'm pretty excited about being able to sim some of the game and later jump in if you want to. I can't stand blowing a weak opponent out and then later lose interest in the 3rd quarter. I like this addition a lot. I'm intrigued by the "revolutionary dynasty" mode they mention. Also, highlights and replay editing?! Digging that.

If the gameplay is tightened up, there will be plenty of late nights for me.

For all you stadium-heads:

Quote:
One last stat to whet your appetite: NCAA 08 will include 115 modeled college football stadiums, up from around 40 in the previous year's game. In addition, several stadiums have been tweaked in accordance with their real-life upgrades from the previous year (Crimson Tide fans, we're looking at you).
115 actual stadiums? Nice! Someone has been hard at work over there!

I'm thinking that since teamxbox mentioned 90 stadiums and gamespot mentions 115, that its 90 college team stadiums and 25 bowl stadiums. Otherwise, if they've got 115 college team stadiums, why couldn't they get the other 4-5 (if you count WKU) in there?

Pretty big leap from last year... But with Western Kentucky becoming a transitional D-1 team next year that makes 120 D-1 programs. With the addition of Bowl venues my guess is that there will still be a few teams that will be playing in generic venues. My best estimate is that some Sun Belt, MAC, and WAC teams that will still be missing.

The BCS Conferences will be completed (65 teams) and that leaves:

Conference USA (12 teams)
I-A Independents (4 teams) NOTRE DAME was included on NCAA '07
MAC (12 teams)
Mountain West (9 teams)
Sun Belt (8 teams)
WAC (9 teams)
WESTERN KENTUCKY (1 team) will they be included???? transition year!

If it is true that 90 team stadiums will be included & 25 various bowl stadiums/venues then that leaves 24 teams remaining. Maybe complete C-USA, Mountain West and Boise State, Hawaii and Fresno State will be completely rendered. That leaves the Sun Belt, MAC, 3 independent teams, and six teams from the WAC without stadiums.
