Precision Passing?

There are only 4 directions for precision passing correct? Up, down, left and right?

I picked this game up yesterday because I needed some football action...I usually do this time of year. I can actually play QB in NCAA because of the pre-snap give aways. Everyone knows that pre-snap reads are important. Anywho, I went 17-31 for 201 yds, 2 TD and an Int in my first game with South Carolina. The only problem is when I have 1-on-1 down the sideline. They always seem to knock it down. The only time I completed a deep ball was when I moved to the stick toward the sideline as opposed to leading the WR further down the field.

Any thoughts?

Re: Precision Passing?

Contrary to what Madden and NCAA games prior to 07 would have you believe, a deep pass is not an automatic touchdown.

Re: Precision Passing?

I'm not looking for automatic touchdowns that's for sure. I'm just not getting how the DB can swat it down consistently when I'm leading my WR downfield.

Re: Precision Passing?

Use a pump fake first, and throw the ball quicker so the pass will lead the receiver.

There is a point were the WR gets next to the DB(Like a step behind him or beside him) Thats the point where you throw the deep ball and lead it. The WR will then blow by the DB(If he is faster) and run under the ball and catch it.

If you have a strong arm QB, there is the possibility you can lead too much and over throw the WR. In that case you may not have to lead at all, just tap the pass button.
