I just looked through the changes, and it looks like they will have shorter team timeouts, not fewer team timeouts.

Re: New Clock Rules

I always thought that one of a team's 3 TOs (perhaps the last one in each half) would only stop the clock, not stop the game for 10 minutes. Y'know, call the TO, the clock stops, the ball is set, then the play clock starts. Sounds like a good way to knock some time off.

Re: New Clock Rules

Maybe I am crazy but I don't see the need to shorten the games. If the game is close, even if it is 5 hours long people will watch it. If the game is a blowout, even if it is 2 hours long nobody will watch it. I have never come home from a game and gone, "Man I wish that game was shorter, I would rather have been somewhere else." My opinion, there are only 12 games a year and college football is the best thing that there is, let the games be decided on the field, not by some weird clock rules.

I agree to a point - I didn't like some of the changes last year, especially starting the clock on kickoffs. However I don't get the clock stopping on all first downs, I mean what's the point? If they want to do that in the last 2 minites of a half fine, but not the entire game.

There is no need for a 5 hour game. I love college football, but I have no desire to sit through a 5 hour game, unless it was something ridiculous like 6 overtimes.

Re: New Clock Rules

Even if the rules were still in effect, it would be assinine to implement them into a video game.
