are they 1080p, or are those still big bucks?

42" = Compatible Formats: 1080i, 720p, 480p, 480i

32" = HDTV Signal Compatibility: 1080i (HDTV), 720P (HDTV), 480P (EDTV), 480i (SDTV)

Is there a huge difference? Will I care since I'm going from a SDTV to HDTV? Maybe I'll just use this as a stepping stone until 1080p go down in price. I can use 720p for a couple years.

By the way the 42" Vizio went down from $944 to $888. AWESOME!

Re: HD question

Don't get a 1080p if you are getting a screen size under 50".The human eye cannot tell the difference between 1080P and 720P when you get into smaller sizes. They pixels are already packed so close together.

If you get anything over 50", that is when you can tell the difference between 720 and 1080.

Re: HD question

I also have a Samsung. Its a 32" which is perfect for me since I have little space so i sit close to the TV anyways. I could not be happier with it.

Also, good call on the 1080p, although it is better, it is a very slight difference and unless youre going for a really big screen its not even worth considering, especially if youre just upgrading from SD to HD.

u are def right... the retina cant decifer picture ratio and or let alone the amount of pixels packed into a 32 inch screen or 37-42"--there are numerous reasons, none of which I will dab into... Medical school is def paying off!

Re: HD question

My 52" HDTV is ready and waiting. I've been playing College Hoops 2k7 like crazy on it...the difference is absolutely amazing. Even old school Halo looks great on the 360 with it.
