no 1080i, only 720p for PS3 ?

I just did the mad rush into my closet to find my manual. Good to find out my tv supports 720p. I have one question though. Are the xbox games built in 1080? And does xbox convert any game that is 720p into 1080? I ask, because I'm trying to decide between the two. I'm about 90/10 towards a PS3, but I just want to know everything.

Im pretty sure the 360 converts 720P to 1080i.

The 360 has an internal scaler so when a game is created without 1080, the 360 upscales it to 1080 either way so it doesnt matter. The PS3 doesnt have this for PS3 games, with one of the most recent updates, it will actually upscale PS2 games and movies but not PS3, figure that one out, you can see PS2 games in a better resolution then PS3 games, this is something Sony needs to fix but I doubt they ever will.

I dont have the game yet, so maybe I shouldnt say anything but I feel compelled, I believe the MLB 2k7 game had the same problem that other games have had, more specifically NCAA Football, and it looked decent, there were far more jaggies but it was still better then anything from the xbox or ps2 days. I would love for the game to look as good as possible but in the end the gameplay is what will keep me hooked.

Well, I haven't heard from anyone that has a 1080i only set like I do on how the PS3 version looks, so I'm a bit hesitant.

but, i do hope it looks better than my PS2 games do on my big screen.


I guess I can always get it and then return it if it's horrible. I'm hoping it's even a little better looking thn PS2 games. Then if the gampelay is great, i'll keep it.

Wish they put out the damn demo by now.
