No random play selection in practice mode?

One of the first things I noticed. I'm not a big fan of this play-calling system in general. There was no reason to go away from the classic 3 window playcalling.

The lack of random play calling in practice mode was the first thing I noticed in Orlando last month...I hate not having that option because I used to spend almost all of my non-online game time in practice mode running random plays against random defenses or running the same play against random defenses. It does suck to not have that feature in NCAA, especially since it was in Madden NFL 2007 and will be in Madden NFL 2008 from what I was told.

There was no good explanation for why this was not put into the game either...

On another note, at least this year's Campus Legend mode is enough fun to play and fill some of those former practice lab hours....not exactly a substitute, but better than last year's NFL Superstar Mode by a mile....

Absolutely agree. Sometimes you have to wonder what these people are thinking.

Same here. I probably played last year's game 50% less than years prior, and the same will probably be true this year.

One thing you can do to practice against random defenses is go into the Bowling mini-game. I don't think you can hot route your receivers, but it's better than nothing.

Yep, that was my fix last year, but just wasn't quite the same.

The 'Ask Corso' option is pretty close to random play calling. Just 'ask corso' and don't look at the screen when you press A...That's what I've been doing

I'll try that out to see how it goes. But seems random play was so quick and efficient, which is what made it so addictive.

EDIT: ya, it's a pain to have to push start, and go to the new play screen, etc. every snap. Although it does give you "random plays." But to me, random play wasn't so much about not knowing the play as it was just a way for me to test out play after play on offense very quickly and efficiently.
