'Scouting' Your Opponent

Does anyone do this? I just thought about it to have a general idea of what to expect when I get into the game. I'm headed into the last game of the season against Idaho

They run a spread offense that's 50/50 run/pass and they are more conservative than aggressive.

On defense, they run a base 4-3 and tend to defend the pass moreso than the run. They are also really aggressive having that slider set to 70.

Does anyone do this by looking at your opponent's 'Coach Strategy' and if you do, how true to that do they stay in-game?

All I do is look at their depth chart at the start of each game and try to get an idea of the strengths and weaknesses.

Yeah I normally look at the depth chart prior to starting the game also. Sometimes I even look at their formations to see what kind of packages and personnel I will need to use against certain personnel groups of theirs. (I dont find this to be cheating because in real life this is something that could be gotten simply from watching film).

I typically do not look at the coach strategy because it is so circumstantial. The pace of the game usually dictates pass to run ratio so I dont get anything out of seeing that.

In all, I probably spend about 2-3 minutes "scouting."
