Re: 3rd downs

yea im seeing this too, im finding it easier to defend a 3rd and 2 or less than it is a 3rd and 7+.but then again my defense is ranked # 7 against the run and #50 something against the pass so i guess it fits.

Re: 3rd downs

Just stopping the CPU sometimes is unbelievable. They're line blows me up on runs up the middle or their qb dumps the ball for 7-13yrds after a 1.5sec drop back. Seems like without ints I'd never stop them, and even those aren't that prevalent on my team.

Yes, It seems as though they always get the first down. There is no stopping them generally on 3rd down.

I have been pretty successful, running a cover two man. Then I control the MLB and I cover the middle. So usually I have the two safeties taking deep halves, the CB's playing man, and the outside linebackers covering the TE's and Backs and then I prevent any crossing routes. I have a few picks with my MLB doing this. Hope this helps.

Thanks I'll try it and see if it works...

Re: 3rd downs

I was having some problems with this too, but I started running a zone blitz where my ROLB blitzed in, it's in the 4-3 Over (maybe Under) formation. It seems to help with 3rd down with yardage between 5 and 12 yards. If it is a lot of yardage to cover, I just take my changes in the Nickel with a cover 2.
