rivalry workaround

i assume this has been posted elsewhere, but since i haven't seen it posted on here, i'll post this little bit of info for the help of those who play with teams with only 1 rival

i, myself, play with midd tenn st & my only rival is ul-l & thus after i switch conferences, it's tough for me to get a decent game for recruits to visit

however, i've found that if you schedule your lone rival earlier in the season, wks 1-3 & then schedule a top 25 team at home later in the season, then it's likely that the top 25 team you schedule will be treated as a rival (after finishing the schedule and starting the season, go to team mngt & then coach strategy & right click to see your coach info & your goals will include beating your normal rival, ul-l for me, & the top 25 team you scheduled, #6 tamu for me this time)

after you beat the top 25 team it lists as your goal, it will show up as a victory over your rivals (noticed this after my second season & had a 3-0 record vs my rivals despite playing only ul-l twice, but had va tech scheduled last season & had that game listed as a goal)

hope this makes sense and helps out some people with teams looking for better games to schedule for recruits to visit

i'm playing as MTSU as well but for me North Texas is also a rival for me, although in the team info screen for MTSU it only list UL-Lafyette as a rival. in North Texas's team info screen it shows MTSU as a rival, i think theres a glitch for that. i have notice this for alot of teams.

as for gaining a rival, i havent seen that happen since NCAA '06 on xbox.

i have noticed that it will list non-rivalry teams on your goals for the season when you are still a lower prestige team but never noticed it added it to rival wins. i have a dynasty taking UL-Laff from the Sun Belt to SEC. i will have to try this next time i play with them.

yes, they counted, also in play now, if you match up NT vs MTSU it will show up as a rival game

Yeah, I'm Miami and when I just played Boston College, it said it was a rivalry game. It didn't list them as one of my rivals though.

looks like no texas was probably my 3rd rivalray game

sorry guys, had no idea that mtsu was listed as no texas' rival, so i just assumed i was given credit for the va tech win as a rival win since it was listed as a goal

I'm not entirely sure that if someone doesn't show up on you rivals list that they'll be counted as a rival (at least for recruiting).

I've played dynasties as Michigan, North Carolina, Michigan State, and LSU. I've never gotten anything less than an A- grade for any rivalry game that I've invited recruits to.

LSU has 4 rivals listed on their list, Alabama, Arkansas, Ole Miss, Auburn. They actually have 5 rivalry games though since the Tulane game is a rivalry game. LSU is listed as a rival for Tulane, but not the other way around. I always thought this was because LSU's list was full with 4 teams. Anywho, I invited recruits to the Tulane game 1 season and I only got B+ grades from every recruit. This tells me that the game wasn't counted as a rivalry game for LSU since I always get B+s for non-rivalry games and I've always gotten at least an A- for rivalry games.
