Easy to say when your playing in a view you like. Not so easy to say when your playing in view you don't.

yeah that's true, they should just add one camera view - usercam and be done with it

At least I'll have 60 fps this year. It would be nice to know the exact reasoning though.
I think you're dead-on with this. Really, I think it's a matter of having to design for two consoles that are so different programmatically it hampers the entire process. You try to standardize the game between the two and then you slowly have to tweak in order to make both of them run at 60 fps. Anytime you change the camera angle, you're completely changing the paradigm - I can see a conversation like this:

-oh crap, there's more of the crowd in this angle, plus the players on the field, now we need to cut the polygons on the "whatever" model in order to still run at 60

- it's still not enough for console B, we need to cut it more

- well, now it looks like crap on using the default camera

and so on, and so on.

Really, I wish both manufacturers would realize that the strength of their system is NOT just tied into the power of the CPU(s). It's also in it's ease of programming. Hopefully next time we get both and the re-writes of our favorite games don't consist of an extremely scaled down version the first iteration.
