If you pressed snap the cpu would take over for you and run the entire play (reads and all) unless you pressed a button or moved the d-pad or analog.

Some guys would call the plays in "coach mode" - and let the cpu run the plays based on the quality of the players they had on their team.

I never did it but some people thought it was more fun than controlling the players themselves. To each their own. Stupid for them to take it out though. What difference could it have made?
