Re: Top 50 players in NCAA 09

FS Shane Carter from Wisconsin a 95??? Sure he had 7 INTS, but they were against subpar competition. UNLV (1), Citadel (1), NIU (2), Michigan (2), and Minnesota (1). Not exactly great QBs there.

yeah i questioned that one a bit too... but oh well... people down south must have heard good things about Wisconsin when they did these rosters... i'm a bit shocked Josh Gaines(93) is rated higher than Maurice Evans(89) who i might add is a 1st team all-american this year... and that Mark Rubin(90) our 2nd string FS is better than Anthony Scirrotto(87) who is our starter at SS and who was a 2 time big ten selection... ?????

I have to disagree with you on George Selvie. If you have seen him play you would know how good he is. Kid is a monster. Had 31.5 tacles for lost last year (most in nation) and 14.5 sacks (2nd in nation). He reminds me of Jevon Kearse. about 6-4 242lb. and runs a 4.5 legit.

Whoa, there's a difference between Tim Tebow and Robinson, Jones, Stanback, etc...... Tim Tebow can throw the football!!!

As a sophomore, he had a 32:6 TD-to-INT ratio, threw for almost 3,300 yards and threw the deep ball about as good as any quarterback in the country last year. Yes. I said that. He completed passes of 40 or more yards in nearly every game last season. They may not have been the prettiest spirals, but they got there (remember Steve Young).

Also, he doesn't hold (held at one point) nearly every Florida High School passing record because he has mediocre passing skills. He threw for almost 10,000 yards and just short of 100 TDs. I think people get caught up that he mostly only ran the ball during his freshman season while Chris Leak was the "passing quarterback". I remember before the start of last season, I told my friends and my brother that he would throw at least 30 TDs and run for at least 15 more and they all laughed at me. I guess I sold Tebow short a little bit.

I love the Tebow haters and doubters. It has reached comical status. Sure he is the "golden boy" of college football. The reason why is he is the the best football player in college football right now at a high profile program. If he played for your favorite college team or alma mater, you'd have him as your avatar too.

I know I may be a little biased because I love UF football, but Tebow is stellar at the college level and will be an NFL QB in 1 or 2 years (if he stays for his senior season). Book it.

Please do not use a players pro potential to argue for or against his NCAA rating because it is 100% irrelevant.

Tebow deserves a 99. He put up ridiculous numbers last year and if he's not a 99 then nobody is.

I'm a Tech fan, but I don't think Harrell deserves a 96 rating.

Do you Solidice?

I mean I think that he has improved in the last few years, but I am definitely not impressed with his arm strength, his decision making (up and down), and his inability to create a big play when we need it. I don't know he is starting to grow on me and he is the third best QB, behind Kliff and B.J., so far since Leach started the Air Raid in Lubbock.
