Passing Off-Target

The biggest problem I have with the passing game is the inaccuracy of the QB. It's hard to hit a WR that's not totally wide-open. The passing game seems to work 2-dimensionally. If I have a WR open but there's a defender between me and the WR, even if he's not covering the WR, it's like he's 10 feet tall, he'll bat it down or pick it off every time. When throwing a quick slant, more often or not the QB throws behind the receiver. When trying to lead the receiver, the QB overthrows and it gets intercepted.

Whomever is talking about there being no defense in this game must be playing some other game. Actually I take it back - there's plenty of defense when the CPU *cough* *cheat* is on defense, but when I'm on defense the QB is perfect.

Yes you can throw a bullet or lob pass but apart from that there don't seem to be ways to

1) Lob it over the defender
2) Lead the receiver without overthrowing
3) Throw the ball high and have your dominating WR "go up and get it."

Also WRs do not go after the ball. This is just another silly saying by Corso when he talks about the recivers not going after the ball, but he's actually right here. Robo-LB jumps 10 feet in the air to pick it off and the WR just stands there and watches. They never fight for the ball.

I wish both the CPU and I had that problem.

No I don't. Some say you're supposed to do that but I've got enough stuff to worry about, I'm not a great stick person.

Re: Passing Off-Target

This very thing is what made me go back to a CPU vs CPU dynasty. After throwing for 0 TD's and 7 INT's in my first 3 games as a virtual QB, I decided it wasn't worth the frustration anymore.

My stick skills just aren't what they used to be when I was a young lad.

Re: Passing Off-Target

You don't know how many int's I've throw trying to hit an open reciever. Either a DB or LB makes a play on the ball that superman couldn't make.

That's a complaint of mine since Bill Walsh came out.
