OMT - Punt Coverage

I know this has been beaten to death and I know you guys are fixing it, or have it fixed already, but I noticed something tonight when playing my Dynasty.

In one game I was returning punts and the punter didn't have a lot of power and my guy was having to run up 5-10 yds to make the catch and I noticed that the whole offensive line was free and running towards me and not just jogging 40 yds downfield like the play was over. I think I averaged 10 yds per punt that game, and the few games before that I had ran atleast one back in each game.

In the games before, and a few after the punter had a better leg and was able to kick it further and the same ole' busted kick coverage was present.

It seems like when players are too far away from the play they don't react accordingly but when I get past the gunners and I get closer to the linemen that are just trotting down the field they start taking angles and speeding up to catch me once I get inside their "range" of the play. Make sense?

Interesting. I think this is part of the problem with the pursuit logic. I've also seen offensive players jogging after me during INT returns. If they weren't jogging, they probably could have caught me and prevented a pick-six.

I think this is why one proposed solution to the punt coverage problem is to reduce kicking power so the punter doesn't out-kick his coverage team.
