Some of the GOOD things about NCAA 09

After sorting through all of the stuff that is wrong with this game, there are some things that I noticed when I stopped looking for problems. Nice touches:

- The returner away from the one that's receiving the ball in the endzone trying to tell the other returner to stay in the endzone
- In a blowout game, the crowd swaying and singing, "Nah nah nah nah, nah nah nah nah! Hey hey hey, goodbye!!"

What else have you noticed that was a nice little touch this year?

There's a lot more than that.

Player models and uniform colors look better than ever, even if the player build sliders are bugged. Ditto for the stadiums.

I love the breakaway animation engine and the new speed curve, even if they both need some fine-tuning. Even my most trivial NCAA 09 highlights look better than anything I ever saw in NCAA 08, or any other football game, for that matter.

Hits look harder and faster than ever, especially sacks.

Strip animations are gorgeous. Players try to rip the ball out or punch it out of the ballcarrier's hands.

Crowd noise is better and just flat-out louder than ever before.

Passing is too easy, yes, but Tiburon did a great job allowing receivers to realistically stretch the field and spread out the defense. In past years, plays looked like they were designed to give the defense a chance, whereas this year the offense shoots to kill.

NCAA 09 has huge potential. Tiburon should do nothing but fine-tune the AI and gameplay for NCAA 2010. We don't need new features.

i think the crowd got worse, beating a top ranked team at home got you a "overrated" chant, that's gone

this is my first game since ncaa 06 for the original xbox so its quite an upgrade for me. The game is visually stunning. The animations are fluid and rarely jerky (except for some tacking animations) and it is overall an immersive experience. It feels less like a videogame now and i think i've played more games of ncaa 09 now than i ever did of 06.

Yeah the animations are awesome. My WR dropped a pass and the DB did like a crazy dive to secure the ball like it was a fumble, I was impressed. Tackles and gang tackles are better this year in my opinion.
The Stadium Sounds are cool as hell I think.

Another thing I like: after a play when one of the players will help the other player up. That is a really clean animation, and adds to the realism.

the game is great except for one play when my receiver pretty much teleported across the field to make a block
