I do the same, alter my schedule to play as many top ten schools as possible. I play as the UT Vols, the SEC schedule is usually tough and always has a number of ranked teams already in the schedule....but I ALWAYS schedule the bye week if there is one ,to play a top ten team...or the highest ranked team that has an opening....my ultimate goal is to have a schedule filled with teams ranked 12-15 or higher...even this wont guarantee a place in the top 3 when going undefeated....lose one game and forget it. Like someone else mentioned earlier...very much like the actual BCS mentality.

One thing I have noticed though is that if a top ranked team loses early, it usually means a very disappointing season. An early loss usually snowballs on a cpu team although maybe that's just a coincidence when I'm paying attention to it.
