To Much QB opition? Here is how to fix it....

Change there playbook in the coach strategy and also there run pass ratio to make it more sim. Less shotgun more under center plays. Here is a link by hookemhorns if you would like to see how to get the other teams true run pass ratio. You could change all or just teams you will be playing plus you can adjust year by year to make up for loss of players or new players coming into the program. So if the team losses its fast QB and now has a pocket passer you can make them more of a west coast team or what ever you would like. Right now I am looking at play books for teams that run the spread but do not have a fast QB to see what would stop them from running so much QB opition. Plus I need some nice sliders to help the cpu running game if some one wants to throw those my way that would be nice.

Ill get back to you after some testing to see if I can find a good playbook for that.

Hey guys here are the best playbooks I've found for running/balanced teams:

Army:
13 option
2 QB run

Boise State:
15 option
3 QB run

Colorado State:
12 option
6 QB run

Fresno State:
17 option
3 QB run

Iowa:
15 option
5 QB run

Nebraska:
6 standard option runs
6 QB option plays out of shotgun
1 option run/pass
3 QB Choice plays out of shotgun
1 QB sneak

UNC:
3 standard option runs
8 QB option plays out of shotgun
3 QB Choice plays out of shotgun
1 QB sneak

South Carolina:
8 standard option runs
7 QB option plays out of shotgun
2 QB Choice plays out of shotgun
1 QB sneak

Syracuse:
6 standard option runs
1 option run/pass
5 QB option plays out of shotgun
5 QB Choice plays out of shotgun
1 QB sneak

Temple:
12 standard option runs
2 option run/pass
4 QB option plays out of shotgun
3 QB Choice plays out of shotgun
1 QB sneak

UCLA:
7 standard option runs
1 option run/pass
4 QB option plays out of shotgun
4 QB Choice plays out of shotgun
1 QB sneak

USC:
7 standard option runs
1 option run/pass
1 QB sneak

Wisconsin:
1 QB option play out of shotgun
8 standard option runs
1 option run/pass
2 QB Choice plays out of shotgun
1 QB sneak

West Coast:
3 QB option plays out of shotgun
3 standard option runs
2 QB Choice plays out of shotgun
1 QB sneak

-----------------------------------------------------

I'm thinking of going through each conference and mixing up the playbooks in there. You can edit their pass/run ratio in dynasty so you can make them try and play smarter...well at least improve the odds!

I'd much rather give teams a more standard playbook with a good chance to actually play well.

Texas Tech obviously runs a spread in real life...but in this game they have 12 QB runs! That is ridiculous! Especially since the AI will call them much too often!

Thoughts?

I was just thinking of doing this today. I noticed that when I play Wisconsin, for example, the CPU calls a much more realistic game than when I play a team that runs a spread attack. Thus: change everyone's playbook to Wisconsin. Problem solved - hypothetically.

FYI, off the top of my head,

Iowa and Ohio State (I'm sorry THE Ohio State) both have run pretty realistic games against me.

Thank you very much im also trying to find a decent spread attack for teams like purdue and northwestern. Does anyone know of a good playbook for them. I still want them to throw out of shotgun and stuff.

See but that also creates a problem. I want teams to run their real life offenses. I agree it will help with the Qb option problem but it just creates another unrealistic problem at least for me.

I don't know if this is a fluke but the other day I played Purdue and they didn't run a single QB option or run for that matter. I may try to give other teams their playbook to keep them still running the spread and see if maybe their playbook is less favore towards qb runs.

Well, I can't believe this game is 10 years old already, so not very valid towards what Purdue does now, but it still sticks in my head as a WI fan.

Brees throws 64 passes and runs 18 times.

Re: To Much QB opition? Here is how to fix it....

I been using the Wisconsin playbook for my opponents and it seemed to boost the CPU offense a bit. They are getting like 25 run attempts and anywhere from 25-40 pass attempts on 7 min, AA.
