I can't believe I never noticed this before. Super cool feature (I don't think it was in last year was it?). I'm 9 weeks in with Iowa and the impact players totally switched to the guys who were team stat leaders.

Maybe I'm late to the party with this personal discovery but it's pretty dang awesome.

Can you choose your own captains though? I remember you could in last gen, but I can't seem to figure it out in 09.

It's meaningless IMO.

Its not like the first year the Impact Player Icon was introduced when they would morph into superman.

I believe it was always like this. Not sure though. But like every 3 weeks (I think), your roster is re-evaluated and impact players are re-assigned if necessary.

I've never thought it was three weeks. I always felt more like it would happen about halfway through the season. I hated it because I would have only 2 guys to start the year and it would feel like forever before I got my third impact player.

It may be different this year, but I used to be annoyed by how infrequently my impact players were re-evaluated.

Impact player can be screwy at times though. My backup RB is an impact player although he barely touches the ball while my starter is a stud freshman averaging around 6 yards a carry and has a thousand yards rushing through 8 games.

My QB is an impact player although he has more INTs than TDs while my number one receiver who has more than 800 yards receiving on 40 some catches is not.

But this is only in my Miss St dynasty, it was dead on in my WVU dynasty.

Last year was my first year on next gen with NCAA. Perhaps I missed it but the feature is working well this year. My QB and WR were the impact players (along with one of my DT's), and they haven't had very good games. My TE and RB have and took over those roles.

If it was in last year, I must not have been paying attention.
