Does a player's size or basic attributes help his progression?

for instance if I recruit a 1* Left tackle who is 6'6" and 324 lbs, does he have a better shot at being better than a 3* who is 5'10" and 275?

the same goes for WRs, if I recruit a guy who is 6'5" with 96 spd but has cement blocks for hands and is only a 1 star, will he end up being better than a 3 star who is 5'9" and 90 speed
