Online Dynasty Conference Invite Trick

I have no idea if this has been posted on here or not as I don't check this board very often, but I just did something and thought I would share. My friend and I have been doing an online dynasty and just wrapped up our 9th year. He is WVU and I am Marshall and we're getting sick of smashing the same crappy teams every game by 60+ points on Heisman. So I came up with something...

During our bowl season, I saved the online dynasty file. I then converted it into an offline dynasty. I simmed the bowls and then advanced to the off-season where he (WVU) got invited to the ACC. But I wanted both of us to get invited, so I x'd out, loaded it back up and kept simming and I kept getting invited to the SEC, but we could never both get invited. Then finally, after loading it back up and simming about 5 or 6 times, he was invited to the ACC, and I'm in the SEC. I accepted the invites and then saved the file. Deleted our old Online Dynasty, and started a new 1 with the saved file in the new conferences.

And now Marshall is in the SEC
and WVU is in the Big East... In an online dynasty.

I'm not sure, we haven't made it to recruiting yet.

Re: Online Dynasty Conference Invite Trick

I am not a big fan of the way conference invites are done in this game. No conference, in real life, is going to drop any of their current programs because of wins/losses and add a new one. More goes into conference affiliation than just wins/losses - particpation in other sports, enrollment, charter membership and endowments to name a few.

Rather than seeing conferences kick teams out and add new ones, I would like to see more realistic scenarios- like expansions and realignments. How about the Big-10 and PAC-10 expanding to 12 teams and starting divisonal play? This is a more realistic approach and would require other conferences, involved in the expansion, to realign. Like the ACC expansion that involved the Big East and CUSA.

I don't know if this kind of logic could be programmed into the game, but it would be better than seeing a conference drop a charter member. Could you imagine the ACC dropping Duke simply because their football team doesn't win enough games, that would be a huge blow to the ACC's basketball program.

Also Miami and VT had already left in '04 for the ACC. The Big East decided to let Temple go after Miami and VT committed to the ACC. Letting Temple go was part of the realignment, after Miami, VT and BC shook up the Big East. Plus, among the 8 founding conferences, this is the only time, in my life time, a team was let go.
