Recruiting 2008 v 2009?

I am new to NextGen and NCAA 09 (xbox360) is my first NCAA game since NCAA 05 (ps2).

I found a detailed FAQ about recruiting for NCAA 08 (xbox 360).

This is mostly "still good" - right?

Are there any significant differences that I should be aware of?

The main change was the addition of quick call. You can now simply select an amount of time to call each prospect and the cpu will call them for you. It saves a lot of time, I recommend you use it some, unless you really like doing it the other way.

Other than that it is pretty much the same. A guide from last year should be good for this year, there were no changes to the actual recruiting part, there were just additions to shorten the time it takes to recruit.

Right, there is no huge difference. There are plenty of detailed FAQs out there for this years Recruiting as well. Most people will tell you to not go after a lot of players, but I typically go for the full 35. Even doing this with my 12 team dynasty, ten of the teams were in the top 15 of the top class, with the other two teams (Colorado State and UTEP) being no higher than 33rd.
One thing I do is just get what I can, and see who is good enough to play for each team. If I could say one thing to help you, it would be to make sure that if you manual call, make sure the call is completed, with the red confirmation in the top right hand corner. This is the only way you actually gain interest, besides doing the quick calls and it tells you that you gained interest. But, I always feel that if you really need or want someone, manual call. You can quick call the border recruits.
Go Blue!!!
