Thinking of NCAA'10

The bowl games are about to start, which means the college football season is coming to an end. Which also means these boards will be thinning out soon as gamers shelve this year’s edition of NCAA. In 7 months, many gamers will buy NCAA ‘10 no matter what, so I pose this question to the "thrifty" consumers on this board.

We all know with EA’s track record there is a high probability the game play will not get fixed. I am not dumping on EA or anything like that, they have just repackaged too many titles in the past. With that in mind, what “fluff” could EA add to entice even the most contentious consumers to pay $60 for a repackaged ’09.

Wish lists aside, here are a few “fluff” items that would entice me, in no particular order.

New animations:
The player models and stadiums look great, but the animations get stale very quick. A lot of the in-game animations look reworked from the “last-gen” games. I would be interested in seeing all new animations, in every facet of the game, including weather effects.

Current uniforms and stadiums:
I am not into mixing and matching uniforms, but many gamers are so give them a vast and current collection. However, I do think all the teams should have their stadiums represented in the game. I can understand using generic stadiums for some of the minor bowl games, but to leave out a team’s stadium is just cheap IMO.

Better game presentation:
At some point EA has to do something with the ESPN License, why not start with ’10? Each college football game is an event within itself, something EA has missed over the years. Yes, the mascots and cheerleaders are a nice touch, but the overall presentation and commentary is stale. It is just too “last-gen” for me, I would like to see something new and dynamic.

I know a lot of people brag about the 2K Series’ presentation, but I think it would serve EA well to pop in NFL 2K5 to see first hand what the buzz is about. If they need a copy, they can have mine.

“Spit and polish” before release:
EA please make sure all glitches are lined out before the release date. Whatever glitches pop up this year…be it frame rate issues or game freezes or whatever…make sure they are ironed out before release. We know you can’t fulfill every wish in next year’s edition, but at least make sure you release a fluid, playable game.
