Corner Route?

I'm seeing a lot of players use (and somewhat abuse) the corner route online. They roll out right (left) and when the WR breaks on the corner route, he's wide open every time. Anyone have an effective way to stop that? It's killing me.

I haven't really seen this but i would think that blitzing to the side they are rolling out- wide side i assume- would help. Plus having fast DBs of course. In my experience, fast TE running that route seem to have more effectiveness than the WR even.

Fast TE + Corner or Out route on PA = Easy Mac

It's sad how bad the coverage is in some areas of the game which almost explains why they need to be able to jump 20 feet from a dead standstill and warp 10 yards to be effective.

Re: Corner Route?

Try having defenders in the flats or just control one of the DBs and cover a receiver.

I always go to a zone that protects the corners when going against a fast TE or shade him with the FS. There's really nothing you can expect the CPU defenders to do other than the occasional knockdown.

Against WR's, play in deeper zones and find their "go to" guy.

Re: Corner Route?

Stop running a Cover 2 - it leaves the corner routes (over the CBs) wide open.

Re: Corner Route?

Cover 2 defense is notoriously weak against corner routes irl. Man to Man is pretty ineffective against the route as well. A cover 2 man would be moderetly effective, but cover 3 and cover 4 are the best ways to take away those routes.
