50 years of conference invites

I'd made a 12-team offline dynasty where the goal was to move as many mid-major teams into major conferences as possible. The rules were that each coach had to accept the first major conference offer he got, and once he got into a major conference, he had to take the first mid-major job offered to him. the Big East was considered a mid-major, since teams from that conference got offers from the other BCS conferences. After 50 years, the college football landscape looked like this (2058 preseason ranking in parenthesis):

Re: 50 years of conference invites

wow that is crazy to see some of the big names in smaller conferences. awesome work! ive been kinda doing the same... a little different tho.. i still concentrate on my dynasty teams (i play as oregon and idaho) but if i see a mid-major doing well year after year i will create a coach and take them over (still sim their games just recruit for them) until they get into a conference i believe they should be in. the funny thing is that the ones ive done so far have gotten into the same conferences as yours did.

im in year 11. so far i have moved san diego st to the pac10 dropping stanford to the mountain west. ucf to the sec and dropping mississippi st to c-usa. still working on notre dame to get into the big10. i dont remember it being this hard to get notre dame into the big10. past years they would go in after 3-4 years. i have been controlling them for almost 7 years now...

again awesome work! very interesting.

Re: 50 years of conference invites

oh forgot... i wish ea would allow us to edit the conferences. it would make this process a lot easier... but i dont think the ncaa and the schools would like it too much... but if they already allow us to change conferences i dont see why a conference editor would be a big deal...

Re: 50 years of conference invites

With ND, I had to move them into the MAC first, then into the Big Ten. It's funny that I won a NC with them as an independent, but didn't get an invite. I only joined the MAC because I had a bunch of 6-6 seasons in a row.

Also, here's a list of teams that have won the NC:
Clemson: 6 National Championships
Notre Dame: 4
Stanford: 4
Wisconsin: 4
Florida State: 3
San Diego State: 3
Texas A&M: 3
UCLA: 3
Louisville: 2
Nebraska: 2
Penn State: 2
Tennessee: 2
USC: 2
Auburn: 1
Miami (Fla): 1
Michigan: 1
Missouri: 1
Ohio: 1
Tulane: 1
UCF: 1
Virginia: 1
Virginia Tech: 1
West Virginia: 1

Re: 50 years of conference invites

this is cool to see who won a championship... although I am in only year 12 I will make some comments on those that have won championships in your dynasty...

Clemson: Always has a great season... Always loses one game that knocks them out of the running....
Notre Dame: Same as Clemson.
Stanford: I took over SDSU and had them take over Stanfords spot in Pac10.. Stanford hasnt done anything.
Wisconsin: Same as Clemson
Florida State: Always loses to Florida no matter how good of a season.
San Diego St: Since Ive moved them to Pac10 they cant get by Oregon and ASU.
Texas AM: Have won Big12 Championships but nothing else...
UCLA: Usually loses 2-3 games
Louisville: Cant get by West Virginia and Rutgers
Nebraska: Have gotten close but nothing yet...
Penn State: Ohio St and/or Michigan usually beat them
Tennessee: Close but no cigar
USC: Oregon has dominated the Pac10
Auburn: Cant get by LSU, Alabama, and Florida
Miami (Fla): Two ACC championships but nothing else
Michigan: Got one and been in two others...
Missouri: Hasnt even won a Big12 Championship
Ohio: One MAC championship but nothing else...
Tulane: Starting to get really good.... Kinda scaring me..
UCF: Got them into the SEC but nothing has came of it
Virginia: Cant get by G-Tech and V-Tech
Virginia Tech: Cant even win a ACC Championship.
West Virginia: Close... Got them into the ACC last season. I'll see what happens

So far my Dynasty has been dominated by Oregon... Played with them for 5 seasons now I just control their offseason and sim their games....
