I've had plenty of freshmen who've gained quite a bit of points going from the preseason depth chart to the start of the season. This year in my OD I had a DE at 71 in the preseason depth chart and at 78 for week 1, also a SS went from 69 to 74. Is this a random occurance or are certain recruits destined for greatness? And why are some true freshmen ratings screwed up in practice mode at the start of the season? I'll have a true freshman RG at 65 ovr as an impact player, etc. Thoughts?

If you make promises to players, their OVR rating will typically take a false jump; none of the rest of their ratings will be increased.

I...did not know that. Thanks that explains some things. Does their rating go back down after their freshman year?

WHAT?? This makes no sense. I'm not saying you're lying. I'm just saying it shoudn't happen. It must be another EA glitch or something.

I think the rating jumps are due to their awareness rating. If you are recruiting a guy with A+ awareness he will have better off-seasons than say a guy who has C rating. Just my 2 cents

Just wondering? Whats the best overall player you've recruited in an online dynasty that was a true freshman?
Mine was the
#1 overall player, a FS with an 89 ovr with 97 speed
