A Suggestion For NCAA 2010 Gameplay Options
To EA Sports:
In the real game of college football, with rare exceptions and except for audibles, the players on the field do not call the plays. Plays are sent in from the sidelines by the coaching staff.
Likewise, coaches do not execute plays on the field.
So, EA, how about providing two basic ways to play the game:
1. As a Coach with no control over players on the field, including audibles which would be called by the QB and Defensive Captain on the field.
2. Or, as a Player, who has no control over plays called, but who can execute audibles.
These two basic playing modes could then each contain very different sub-options and the software could be tailored to perform differently and appropriately to support each mode.
I believe that there is a substantial untapped market for an in-depth game play experience which does not include manipulating players on the field. I also believe that this same untapped market would respond well to realistic gameplay which is not exclusively dependent on big plays and excessive turnovers to create excitement.
