Making the game harder

Hi.

What are some ways that you make the game harder? I only try and call the plays that Corso calls for me. I pick one of the 4 and that's it. If i were to pick my play every time I could easily pick apart the defense. I do hot routes but that's it. I generally don't put guys in motion. So what are some ways you make the game harder for youself when playing the computer?

sliders?

I feel like sliders can only do so much though. Most of the realism is determined by the user.

Re: Making the game harder

There's only one way the CPU can compete with me and that's the way I play in my offline dynasty. Besides the strict recruiting rules I have in place, here are the gameplay rules:

- Ask Corso (4 plays) for both Offense and Defense
- Let CPU control Kick/Punt Returns (User can call fair catches)
- No hot routes, shifts, audibles, etc before the play on both Offense and Defense (Run the play as is)
- Cannot switch players after the snap on Defense (pick a player and stay with them the whole play)
- Let CPU control defender after INT unless it is a User Pick

I'm usually a Coach/CPU mode player, so it wasn't too much of a transition to go from CPU/CPU to playing like this. It's actually much more exciting than most of the games I'll play straight up because I don't feel like I'm in godmode. In my first season playing this way with Baylor I finished 5-7 with some close losses and a couple of blowout losses to top teams. By comparison, I'm 12-0 in an OD (check m00d's thread in sliders, good OD sliders for anyone looking) with a 72 OVR UNLV team because there are no rules even though I still play a sim-style game in that dynasty.

You're right. As long as I have at least 25 QBA, I'm pretty sure I could give the CPU all 100's and still end up winning most, if not all games. There's no slider for CPU stupidity and that's what ends up costing them most games.

We're a combined 24-0 this year in our OD and the sliders can't get much harder than that.

Re: Making the game harder

play with some tough sliders and use a 1 star team.
should give you a challenge until you able to build the team up through recruiting...

then choose another 1 star team to play as.
