Progressive Lighting

What happened here? It used to be in the game in 07, and they even claimed to use satellites to document the exact location of the sun/shadows/ etc at the certain time. Why go through all this trouble just to take it out?

Re: Progressive Lighting

I dont know why they took it out. I hope it comes back because playing in the Rose Bowl is horrible. Everything looks yellow...

Re: Progressive Lighting

I'm willing to bet it's back in the game for 2010... possibly an announcement next week since the work in progress photos seem to show progressive lighting...

Kind of stupid that they'd consider that a feature, but that's EA

Re: Progressive Lighting

it was in '07 and '08. it wasn't taken out. they made a new lighting system and wasn't able to get the progressive lighting in the new system before release.

Re: Progressive Lighting

The new lighting system is horrendous, and 08's wasn't good either except for the fact that it was progressive.

07's lighting system was king and the final product with lighting since then has been pathetic. If the newest two photos are any indication, it doesn't appear to be getting any better. Color tone is part of the problem (grass and characters) and color temperature of the lighting itself, but I don't think they realize it hence the most recent photos.

Why is it stupid that they call it a feature? Isnt that what it is?

No, it's not a "feature" any more than jersey bowl patches or QB auto throw. It's something that we all just expect after seeing it for so long.
