Button Smasher or Lazy Bones?

Do you like smashing the A button like crazy, like in 2k games, when running with the ball.

Or are you the guy who wants to hit the R Trigger and know he has his guy at full speed?

I am the button smashing guy. It seems so much more realistic to me. When tapping A when wrapped up to break a tackle I feel as if I am controlling his feet and the more I push the button the more he drives his feet and keeps them moving. And when I hold it to charge to release a move I feel like I am actually building something up. To me holding down the trigger has no realism to it at all.

Which one are you, and why are you that way?

Button Masher! The more tired that thumb gets the slower your guys run and the weaker your tackles get! I loved it back in 2K5! I remember games where I couldnt hardly accelerate in the 4th cuz my thumb was so damn tired! Lol. Which kinda makes sense. If a back has 30 carries, by the time he is on that 20th one we should be able to tell if he has been gettin popped all game or not

I love the 2K speed system. You can actually feel your guy "kick it into gear" so to speak. Because even when you start tapping, he doesnt start to "sprint" right away like in ea games. You have to sprint it for like 4-5 steps before he actually starts sprinting.

Aka, acceleration is realistic instead of arcade BS.

Which has nothing to do with button mashing and everything to do with their animations and acceleration/deceleration.

Button mashing is for the arcade. When playing a sim football game, I shouldn't need to mash buttons.

Yeah not a fan of button mashing in any game. If the difference between me and u is that you can push the buttons faster, so therefore you're a better player... that's not a very realistic video game. Go play track and field, there your talents for pushing the button fast will be appreciated.

Re: Button Smasher or Lazy Bones?

I dont like neither! I dont think either one is a good reflection of "kicking it into gear". I really dislike EA's idea of a sprint button. Im not sure of how many played football at any level but I dont remember sprinting all over the field everyplay. I do remember pushing it or "kicking it in gear" at the right time to run away from defender or to close in on the tackle though.

So thats what I want from my sports game a button for a quick burst and not sprinting. Sprinting should happen when you move in a straight line for more than 7 or so yards.
