I posted this in another thread, but felt it deserved its own thread as it is a different and much needed "fix".

The "Depth Chart/Mass Substitution/Roster Bug"...that's the only way I can describe this but everyone who's played NCAA over the years has experienced this and it drives all of us insane. Let me explain....

EA doesn't put enough slots for backups and their defaults are all out of whack.

For instance....there are only 5 or 6 Depth Chart slots available for WRs and DBs.

So....for example...if you have 8 WRs on your roster and you are killing your opponent by 40 points you decide to pull your starters. You use Mass Substitution and put in your 2nd string.

However, as your 2nd string WRs get tired/hurt, etc. the CPU doesn't automatically start replacing them with your 7th and 8th WR on your team...nope....

Instead, the CPU starts putting your DBs and Safeties in at WR over these WRs.

Same goes for the Secondary....if you have 8 DBs on your roster, the CPU will only rotate the guys you have in those 5 or 6 pre set DB slots on the depth chart. The other DBs are lost in limbo apparently, because the CPU will stick your WRs, RBs, and QBs in your secondary if you go beyond the original 5 or 6 slots instead of doing the LOGICAL thing and using your final DBs on your roster, followed by safeties, etc.

This has been something that EA hasn't fixed for YEARS...going back to 2002 at least.

I see this a lot playing as Texas Tech. you don't even have to use the mass subs to see it. with 4 WRs on the field, after a few plays multiple players can get tired, the 5th and 6th WR that are on the depth chart get rotated in, but after that it will sub in DBs as WRs instead of the other WRs on the roster that don't fit on the depth chart.

Classic when they put in my 3rd string quarterback at FS when I have 6 safeties and 8 cornerbacks on my roster.
