Developing New Rivals

With the ability to now create custom conferences, I think its essential that we also have the ability build or create new rivalries. For instance, if I want to take Notre Dame and put them in the Big East, why should all of my rivals continue to be Big 10 teams?

Any word on if this is to be included?

Re: Developing New Rivals

its been mentioned before, but I would love to see this included. something like if you schedule a team 5 or 6 seasons in a row..then the rivalry is born. it would be cool to see.

Re: Developing New Rivals

It needs to be done. I faced WVU in 3 straight Orange Bowls, there would probably be a rivalry if that happened. I faced them 5 times in 10 years. In the other five years I faced Missouri in the BCS Championship all five times. I won 3 of the 5. There would definitely be a rivalry there no doubt.

Re: Developing New Rivals

they had something like this in NCAA '06, at least for created schools. it wasn't very good in the choices it made though. it always kept giving me a 1-AA school as my 2nd rival.

Re: Developing New Rivals

well probably wont have to worry about 1-AA schools in 10...

EDIT: it should be a joint effort from both the user school & the CPU school when declaring a rivalry. You would need to build up to it by playing a minimum amount of games before you could somehow "offer" to be their rival and they would have to except or visa versa. Then you would be locked into playing them each year for 6 or 7 seasons or whatever the contract is. just an idea

I think this is a great idea. Set up games vs. a certain school for "X" number of years and you can agree to be rivals.

Re: Developing New Rivals

I agree this is almost a must if you take into consideration of the new con. setup.
