Yeah the speed on defense! And we all know cheesers put CB's all over the field because most other ratings meant nothing. That was the kinda stuff wrong with 09 not WOGP. WOGP when its done right will benefit a great defense like USC last year just as much as a great offense like ______ (add any Big 12 south school) last year!

UF in my mind changed it up. they were definitly more defence minded in 06, while in 08 it was an offensive show

LSU was more balanced in 07.

Re: Wide Open Gameplay your friend!

But what you guys aren't getting is exactly what Auburn Alumni has been saying all thread. Wide open gameplay is directly a RESULT of making defense ******** on this game. They didn't do anything to improve the offense. They just made defense dumb. They didn't improve the playbooks, didn't improve the run blocking AI, didn't really do anything to change anything about the offense. All that they did was neuter the defensive line, make the OL ridiculous at picking up blitzes, and make man coverage extremely weak. You can't say that it's a good thing and then talk about how it could be used to make defense better. Wide open gameplay is the reason that defense was so bad to begin with.

The problem here is you guys think wide open gameplay is dumb down defense. I think WOGP is more fluid motion and less scripted ball animation. I have played every NCAA for the past decade and last year game was the most responsive game yet.

Because WOGP is completely based around a dumbed down defense. How many times do people have to tell you this?

What f'ing game are you playing?

This game has the most horrendous running animations in the brief history of next-gen and EVERY catch animation is scripted to a tee to the point where players can leap 30 feet in the air for INTs and warp into catches.

I swear sometimes I don't even think people play this game.
