What's the Point of Pre-Ordering?

Seriously? I have never pre-ordered a game in my life and it's never made any difference as the store always has them in stock. I don't see the point in doing it when I can buy it easily in release day. And it saves me a trip to the local videogame store to not pre-order it.

Well for NCAA 10 if I understand it right they said you would get 13 extra slots for Created team if your going to use Team Builder. That would help if you plan on running a league since the commish has to have each team on there HD.

I could be wrong about this but I pre ordered because of this.

me too. i can't remember the game, but I did get shut out once at a gamestop because i didn't preorder.

It's useful for lesser-known games, and some big budget games that may sell out fast. For example, last year I went to the Gamestop right near my apartment to get a copy of GTA IV only to find out they didn't have any extras in stock, so only the people who pre-ordered got a copy on release day. And just this last week I went to pick up a copy of Battlestations Pacific that I'd pre-ordered months ago and I was talking to the dude behind the counter that I know and he said that since the game wasn't expected to be a big seller they only shipped the number of copies that were pre-ordered, so I wouldn't have been able to get the game if I'd just walked in.

I preorder it to slowly pay the game off instead of saving the money for when it comes out.
